A media wall is the one piece of joinery in a house that everybody looks at every evening. Done well, it makes the room — a flush, integrated feature with no visible cables, no gaps at the edges, and proportions that suit the wall it sits on. Done carelessly, it is a box screwed to some plasterboard.
We design and build media walls to the room rather than to a catalogue. That starts with the practical questions: where the sockets and aerial feeds actually are, how much ventilation the equipment needs, whether an electric fire is going in and at what height, how the TV will be supported, and what happens when a device needs replacing in three years.
The build is a proper carpentry job — a stud framework fixed back to structure, boarded, filled, and finished with painted or veneered panelling, integrated lighting where wanted, and cable routes designed in from the start. The result is a wall that looks like it was always part of the room.

Can you fit a media wall to a plasterboard or stud wall?
Yes. The framework is fixed back to structure rather than relying on the board, so it carries the weight of the unit, the TV and the fire safely. On a stud wall we locate and fix into the studs, adding noggins where needed.
Do you handle the electrics?
The joinery, framework, cable routing and finish are ours. New circuits, spurs and consumer-unit work are notifiable electrical work in the UK, and we coordinate with a qualified electrician for those so everything is certified correctly.
Can the TV be moved or replaced later?
Yes, and it should be planned for. We build in access and leave cable routes usable, so swapping a TV or a device later does not mean cutting into the wall.
How long does a media wall take to build?
A typical installation is around three to five days from framework to finished decoration, depending on size, whether a fire is being integrated and how much storage is involved.
Will it look built-in or like a piece of furniture?
Either, whichever suits the room — we build both. Most clients want a fully integrated, wall-to-wall finish, but a freestanding-looking fitted unit works better in some rooms, particularly period ones with existing alcoves.
